Don’t forget it is Sexual Health Week from 12th - 18th September!

Although some young deaf people learn about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) at school, this training isn’t consistent and is often just biological, which means infections may not even be discussed.

In 2015, there were more than 435,000 STI diagnoses in England, and rates across the UK remain high compared to other countries in western Europe.

The Family Planning Association (FPA) has commissioned a survey of 2,000 people across the UK to find out what they know and think about STIs and these findings will be shared during Sexual Health Week.

Deafax delivers sexual health training to D/deaf people and health providers which includes a topic on STIs. Contact us to find out more or to book a workshop.
